Mihir stood a few feet away with his arms crossed, watching his sister sit on the swing and zone out. "You always find the swing" he murmured eventually bringing Laila out of her haze. "It's the only place that doesn't ask me to pretend, It just exists and sways away calmly" said Laila. "You shouldn't be out here alone" said Mihir and sat next to her. "I'm not, You never really leave me alone" said Laila with a teasing smile.
There was a prolonged silence with turmoil inside Mihir and he finally decided to speak out, "You let her in". Laila's expression didn't change at the confrontation, "I did". Mihir scoffed, "Laila I understand your need to be graceful but this isn't charity work". "She's not Parth" Laila said quietly. "No" he said, "but she's his blood and that family, your in-laws let you rot in silence" said Mihir fuming.
